US government donates $1.2 million to Mongolia to prevent coronavirus spread

AKIPRESS.COM - U.S. Ambassador to Mongolia Michael S. Klecheski said the measures taken by the Mongolian government to prevent COVID-19 spread are very impressive. The U.S. government will donate 3.3 billion tugriks (approximately $1.2 million) to the Mongolian government to improve basic healthcare and prevent COVID-19.
Mongolian Health Ministry Davaajantsangiin Sarangerel said: "Coronavirus has been confirmed in 194 out of 195 WHO member states. We are grateful for this donation despite the outbreak in the United States during these difficult times. The United States government has donated 3.3 billion tugriks through WHO and the UN Children's Fund. Ten cases of coronavirus were imported to Mongolia, no infection among citizens living in the country was detected. The country's health industry will do its best to prevent the infection."
