AKIPRESS.COM - Uzbekistan reported a first COVID-19 case in a patient who was not abroad and did not contact the confirmed cases, Bahrom Almatov, Director of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Supervision Agency, told a briefing today in Tashkent. "This is a 20-year-old woman. She did not travel abroad and had not contacted the infected patients. Probably, she touched the objects previously touched by the infected people or probably got infected in public transport or at work," he said.
"We checked the family members of this patient. They are healthy. This situation requires from all of us to stay vigilant," Almatov stressd.
The young woman lives in Tashkent. Her family members did not travel abroad either.
The total number of COVID-19 cases in Uzbekistan reached 49 by March 24.
