AKIPRESS.COM - The 14-day mandatory quarantine was extended to 21 days in Mongolia, the National Emergency Commission ruled.
The move came following identification of new coronavirus case 8 days after the passenger arrived in Ulaanbaatar from Istanbul.
On 26 March, one of the passengers aboard the plane of evacuees from Istanbul, Turkey tested positive for coronavirus. This plane landed at the Chinggis Khaan International Airport in Ulaanbaatar on March 19, Director of the National Research Center for Infectious Diseases D.Nyamhuu said.
The government will allocate 350-500 million tugriks (approximately $109-$181,000) from its reserve fund for additional weekly accommodation and meals of people in isolation.
So far, Mongolia has confirmed a total of 11 cases of coronavirus; one French citizen who arrived in Mongolia from France in February and ten Mongolians evacuated from Seoul, Berlin and Istanbul.
