AKIPRESS.COM - President Sooronbai Jeenbekov today partook in the extraordinary session of the Cooperation Counci of Turkic Countries presided by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in form of a videoconference.
The Turkic Cooperation Council member states discussed consolidation of efforts in fight against spreading coronavirus infection and its effects.
The heads of state outlined actions taken at the national level in fight against COVID-19, exchanged views on mitigation of its adverse effects for national economies, commercial and economic cooperation during post-pandemic period, broadening of cooperation in health care.
The countries identified the joint action plan for the near future.
President Sooronbai Jeenbekov noted importance of coordinated actions and mutual support during the current crisis.
The leaders adopted the final declaration.
The video conference was attended by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban, Turkic Council Secretary General Bagdad Amreyev, WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
After 3-year break, the Turkic Council was held on September 3, 2018 in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan. Azerbaijan then took over Turkic Council Chairmanship from Kyrgyzstan and hosted the Turkic Cooperation Summit in October 2019 in Baku.
