Frosts ruin apricots in Batken

AKIPRESS.COM - The apricot trees were damaged by frosts in the night of April 9-10, farmer Tursunali Tolomushev told Turmush.
The apricot trees finished blossoming and flours transformed into fruits, but they all were ruined by frosts, he said.
"Last year the yield was low, this year arpicots were frozen. Locals explorted their apricots to foreign countries. Several varieties of apricot trees grow in Batken region, locals dry apricots and export them to the CIS states," Tolomushev said.
Apricot trees occupy more than 7,000 ha in Batken region.
The region marks the Apricot Day on April 2, when tree splaings are planted.
