15 Tajik citizens in Russia contract COVID-19

AKIPRESS.COM - At least 15 citizens of Tajikistan in Russia are infected with COVID-19, Tajik service of RFE/RL reported with reference to the Embassy of Tajikistan in Russia.
Some migrant workers complained about lack of access to medical services.
"According to our information, rapid tests for coronavirus were positive at least of 15 Tajik citizens," unnamed worker of the Embassy of Tajikistan in Moscow told the Tajik service of RFE/RL on condition of anonymity.
The official did not exlude the possibility that the number of COVID-19 positive migrant workers may be several times higher. "We do not know how many people recovered, but some still stay at medical facilities," the embassy worker said.
The Ministry of Health and Social Protection of Tajikistan said not a single coronavirus case was registered in the country.
Tajik authorities said around half a million of citizens of Tajikistan left for Russia to work last year. Many of them remained jobless due to coronavirus pandemic.
