Kazakhstan extends state of emergency until May 11

AKIPRESS.COM - President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokayev has made the statement concerning the coronavirus situation in the country, the Akorda press service said.
The state of emergency will be lifted on May 11 if no new wave of infection occurs in the country.
The quarantine restrictions will be loosened in the regions and towns where the situation over coronavirus infection is under control.
The state commission will determine the list of organizations that will be reopened in all regions of the country like that was done in the capital city. These will be industrial enterprises, construction and road construction companies, transport companies, banks, public service centers.
In May, the government will pay 42,500 tenge benefits to citizens who lost incomes. Citizens won't need to reapply for assistance. The benefits will be paid on the basis of earlier submitted applications. Needy families will receive food assistance.
The air flights between Nur-Sultan and Almaty will be relaunched since May 1.
Shopping centers, entertaninment facilities, restaurants, parks and other usually crowded places will be closed. Universities, colleges and schools will continue remote learning.
The Ministry of Health is tasked to increase testing rate to at least 20,000-25,000 tests a day according to the international standards.
The government has been tasks to start industrial production of domestic test systems.
The National Bank will prepare the comprehensive plan for recovery of economic growth until May 11, which will include support of the mostly affected sectors.
The state of emergency is in effect in Kazakhstan since March 16. Almaty and Nur-Sultan were locked down since March 19. With spread of the coronavirus infectrion across the country, other regions were locked down.
