AKIPRESS.COM - The Tajik authorities will report about coronavirus cases in the contry, several regions will be locked down, Interfax reported with reference to a source in the Kyrgyz government.
"The government of Tajikistan will admit a complex epidemiological situation in the country soon and presence of coronavirus, quarantine measures will be introduced in certain districts of the country," the source said.
"More than 60 people are quarantined in neighboring Tajikistan, including teachers of the schools in the capital, police officers, workers of the National Bank. Vice Chairperson of the ruling People's Democratic Party Hairiniso Yusufi was quarantined since last week," the source said.
Interfax said it does not have confirmation from the Tajik authorities.
On April 26, the nation-wide team for COVID-19 prevention of Tajikistan decided to declare 2-week break at kindergartens, schools, lyceums from April 27 until May 10 over coronavirus threat.
Since April 25, Tajikistan temporarily banned export of grain, cereals, rice, beans, peanuts, eggs, potatoes, all kinds of meat, flour.
Tajikistan has not officially confirmed coronavirus cases yet.
