Decriminalization of defamation suggested in Kazakhstan

AKIPRESS.COM - The amendments to the Criminal Code and Administrative Liability Code were published on the portal of regulations for public discussion.
The defamation article is proposed to be removed from the Criminal Code.
The amendment foresee reduction of fines for defamation, but at the same introduce administrative arrest up to 30 days.
The public discussion of the proposed amendments will last until March 16.
