18 policemen turn to hospital after dispersal of rally in Bishkek

AKIPRESS.COM - 18 policemen turned to the hospital as a result of dispersal of supporters of the former MP Sadyr Japarov on March 2, the Health Ministry reports. "All of them have soft tissue bruises. They received outpatient treatment, none of them was hospitalized," the ministry said.
Hundreds of protesters rallied on the main square in Bishkek demanding politician Sadyr Japarov's release on March 2.
The peaceful rally turned violent when a part of the protesters clashed with police heading to the White House, while other part remained at the venue calling for avoiding any provocations.
At around 6 pm, riot police started dispersal of the protesters and by 6:30, they were gone. Rock throwing was reported during the March 2 events. The number of detainees is being clarified.
