President Jeenbekov receives head of Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund

AKIPRESS.COM - The President Sooronbai Jeenbekov received chairman of Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund Elnura Boronbayeva on April 30, the President's Office reports.
The meeting discussed the measures of increasing the quality of provided medical services, as well as access of population to services during the state of emergency. "The situation with the spread of coronavirus infection in the country revealed system shortcomings in the health sector," the president said.
President noted the need for the improvement of whole healthcare system, including compulsory medical insurance of citizens and strengthening the role of public health, as well as discussed the efficient use of funds received through international assistance.
Boronbayeva, for her part, reported on the activities of the Fund during the pandemic and briefed on the measures on provision of citizens with high-quality medical care and noted that to date, all state medical institutions have reserves of personal protective equipment for medical workers.
"The supplies of medical institutions are replenished daily. Over 187 million soms were allocated for these purposes for the last 3,5 months," said Boronbayeva.
Boronbayeva said that work on regulation the drug prices is ongoing along with state bodies.
