Kyrgyz Minister says water shortage for irrigation will be noticeable

AKIPRESS.COM - This year, water shortage for irrigation will be noticeable, Agriculture Minister Erkinbek Choduyev said May 3. Every liter of water should be used carefully, he said.
The minister also expressed hope that the farmers will use drip irrigation and grow products in greenhouses.
Drip irrigation today is used on 2408 hectares in 2456 farms, he said.
He also noted that the frosts of April 8-9 caused significant damage to the farmers, but the government and the Agriculture Ministry will take measures to ease the damage.
