Entry to Bishkek to be restricted, sanitary posts to be set up within city with lifting of state of emergency

AKIPRESS.COM - In case the state of emergency is lifted in Bishkek since May 11, the Bishkek authorities are considering retention of certain restrictions for entry to the city for cars and people, vice mayor Tatiana Kuznetsova said during a briefing today.
In addition to passes, presentation of medical certificates confirming a negative result for rapid or PCR COVID-19 test may be required, she added.
The Bishkek authorities are considering quarantine restrictions in form of internal sanitary posts within Bishkek to restrict movement of cars and people.
According to official information, coronavirus infection rate remains the highest in Bishkek. The population of the capital exceeds 1 million people, the city is densely populated.
Among 231 confirmed cases in Bishkek, 34 were imported, 197 are local cases. 190 people live in the city, 41 people are registered outside Bishkek.
69 cases were confirmed in 16 residential districts in Bishkek.
"The mayor's office will tighten quarantine measures in residential districts. When necessary, sanitary posts will be set up and all clusters where infected and contacts were revealed will be checked. The measures are stepped up to detect the contacts entering Bishkek," the vice mayor stated.
