Above 23,000 families receive food assistance in Leninskiy district of Bishkek

AKIPRESS.COM - 23,134 families in Leninskiy district of Bishkek received food assistance, distict governor Toktosun Sultanov told a briefing today.
Food assistance is provided from seveal sources, including by the government, businesses, Arab foundations, active citizens or financed from the local budget, the governor said.
The government provided 3,500 sacks of flour, 4,182 food packages were provided by local authorities, 5,880 food packages were provided by businessmen, 2,005 food baskets were handed over by the Arab foundations.
The lists of citizens and families needing food assistance include needy citizens registered with the local social development departments, people named by neighborhood administrators, local education departments. Food assistance requests are also submitted via social networks.
