AKIPRESS.COM - 16,200 people returned to their villages in Akalty and Mirzaabad districts of Syrdarya region on May 4 that were flooded after burst of the Sardoba dam on May 1, the Ministry of Emergency Situations said.
A part of villagers returned to their homes a day earlier.
The water is still pumped out from households and infrastructure facilities. Additional forces and emergency workers were mobilized to the area on Monday. 43 fire trucks and more than 100 motorized pumps arrived from other regions of the country.
242,000 cbm of water on 3,450 sq m were pumped for a day. 340 houses, 9 infrastructure facilities, 4 farms were removed from water.
The emergency workers, servicemen of the National Guard continue clearing of the areas from the waste. The condition of sewage and water treatment facilities, cemeteries is studied, they are disinfected.
1,300 houses and places where people were evacuated were disinfected for a day.
