AKIPRESS.COM - Tajikistan resumed electricity export to Uzbekistan.
Electricity is supplied in small amounts through two 220 kV lines, Asia-Plus reported with reference to a source in the government.
"Electricity exports to Uzbekistan will grow several times in near time, 500 kV lines will be used," the source said.
The countries have not reached the final agreement yet on the Tajik electricity export price.
It was agreed earlier that Tajikistan will export electricity to Uzbekistan only from April to September, when the domestic electricity needs are fully met.
Last year Tajikistan exported 1.425 billion kWh of electiricity at 2 cents for 1 kWh for a total of $28.5 million.
Tajikistan halted electricity exports to Uzbekistan in December 2019 to meet domestic needs in cold season.
