Turkmenistan expands international cooperation in road transport and customs control

AKIPRESS.COM - Government officials of Turkmenistan held a meeting with the representatives of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the International Road Transport Union (IRU) in a video conference format on Thursday. The representatives of relevant ministries and departments of Turkmenistan, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, State Customs Service and Türkmenawtoulaglary (Turkmen Motor Transport) attended the session.
The online meeting participants discussed the current state and perspectives of cooperation of Turkmenistan with the IRU and the UNCTAD in the field of road transport and customs control.
The sides considered the issues regarding the Automated System for Customs Data (ASYCUDA), which is also being used in Turkmenistan.
The officials also exchanged views on the planned establishment of an electronic roadmap and a centralized information base that will contain all information about arriving, leaving or transiting vehicles in Turkmenistan.
The UNCTAD, with 195 member countries, aims to provide comprehensive support to the development of international trade and equal, mutually beneficial cooperation, including through the implementation of relevant programs.
