AKIPRESS.COM - The government of Uzbekistan is working on evacuation of 11,000 citizens more, who found themselves in a difficult situation, President Mirziyoyev said during a videoconference on May 7.
"You know that citizens of Uzbekistan still remain in many countries. Depending upon our possibilities, we need to bring them back anyway. We have started this process already. We plan to evacuate citizens from Russia, Turkey, UAE, other countries. 11,000 of them have difficulties. We are taking actions to bring them home," President Mirziyoyev said.
Chief Sanitary Inspector Nurmat Atabekov said earlier 500-600 citizens arrive in Uzbekistan from abroad (through Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan) every day. They all are quarantined upon arrival. New coronavirus cases are mainly registered among people staying in quarantine facilities, he said.
