AKIPRESS.COM - The news about possible arrival of citizens of Tajikistan to Chon-Alay district and preparation of a hospital for their medical observation caused panic among local population yesterday. The villagers were ready to oppose entry of Tajik citizens to their region, Turmush reported. However, Osh region police department's press secretary Jenishbek Ashirbayev said 9 citizens of Kyrgyzstan, natives of Chui region, visited their relatives in Tajikistan, and will return to Kyrgyzstan today.
"These 9 citizens of Kyrgyzstan could not return back as the borders were closed. This issue has been solved now. A hospital in Chon-Alay district will be used as the observation point and they will be taken there immediately after arrival. Since we thought there might be much more citizens willing to return from Tajikistan and for this reason we prepared schools to host them for observation. Nine citizens will stay in the observation point for 14 days. They will be discharged home, if they test negative for coronavirus," the press secretary explained.
Osh region administration's press secretary Nurkyz Kadyrbek kyzy said Chon-Alay district governor Jumadilla Japarov will meet the returning citizens on the border crossing point to personally control the situation.
"Nine citizens of Kyrgyzstan will cross the border. Their return was arranged in cooperation with the Foreign Ministry," she said.
The citizens will return to Kyrgyzstan through the Karamyk border crossing point on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border.
