Patrol police officer in Almaty sentenced to 1 year in prison for taking bribe at quarantine checkpoint

AKIPRESS.COM - A police officer in Almaty was handed a 1-year prison sentence for taking a bribe during service at the quarantine checkpoint, Daniyar Bigaidarov, special investigator of the Anti-Corruption Agency, told a briefing. "The Auezov district court of Almaty sentenced the patrol police inspector to 1 year in prison and lifelong deprivation of the right to work in pubic service for taking a bribe from a citizen for unimpeded passing the roadblock during the state of emergency and quarantine in the city," the special investigator said.
Earlier, a citizen was fined in Atyrau for transferring a bribe to the patrol police inspector for passing the roadblock without restrictions.
