AKIPRESS.COM - The reconstruction of the Burana tower has completed, said Culture Minister Azamat Jamankulov at the parliament meeting on May 27.
According to him, a museum was built near the tower. The object of historical and cultural heritage is on the balance of the ministry.
"Currently, the talks on the excavation works are ongoing with Japan and China. We want to create a large open-air museum," said Jamankulov.
The Burana Tower is located in 13 km of the Tokmok town. It was built in 11th century. The minaret was built near a mosque. Its initial height was 46-47 meters, while now its height is 24 meters, the height of its foundation is 5-6 meters. The ruins of the Burana Tower are believed to be remains of the ancient city of Balasagun, which was established by the Karakhanids at the end of the 9th century.
