Epidemiological investigation in connection with Covid-19 outbreak in Naryn carried out improperly – Health Ministry

AKIPRESS.COM - The epidemiological investigation into the outbreak of Covid-19 at the maternity hospital in Naryn town was not carried out entirely, Health Ministry's public health department chief Ainura Akmatova said at the meeting with media representatives in Naryn. The maternity unit of the Naryn region hospital has become the epicenter of the spread of the coronavirus infection, Ainura Akmatova said.
"After discharge of new mothers from the maternity unit, despite spread of COVID-19 in Naryn and Ak-Tala districts, the epidemiological investigation was not carried out entirely, neither at organizations nor among people," she said.
More than 2,000 were tested now for coronavirus. They all contacted the confirmed cases. Those infected were taken to the hospital. The actions were undertaken to prevent further spread of the virus, Ainura Akmatova stated.
The nation-wide operative team for coronavirus fight said yesterday the epidemiological situation in Naryn region is complex. The number of confirmed cases in Naryn region exceeded those in Osh and Jalal-Abad regions.
