Uzbekistan, Malaysia discuss science and innovative cooperation

AKIPRESS.COM - Ambassador of Uzbekistan Ravshan Usmanov met Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation of Malaysia Khairy Jamaluddin in Kuala Lumpur on June 2.
Priority areas of future cooperation between Uzbekistan and Malaysia were discussed during the meeting, the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan said.
The sides discussed measures undertaken in both countries for COVID-19 containment. They expressed readiness to cooperate in creation of the vaccine and medications.
Malaysia expressed interest in joint research projects in medicine, pharmaceutics, nano- and biotechnology, support of high-potential start-ups.
As a result of the meeting, Uzbekistan and Malaysia agreed to organize video conference on COVID-19 containment between healthcare experts and scholars in the second half of June; to sign a memorandum of cooperation between the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation of Malaysia in forensic analysis.
