AKIPRESS.COM - WHO Regional Director for Europe Hans Kluge has explained growth of COVID-19 infections in Kazakhstan, UN News Center reported.
The WHO Regional Director suggested that growth of new cases might be explained with changes in COVID-19 testing.
"Most people in Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan have opportunity to be tested for COVID-19," Kluge said.
He added that the second wave of coronavirus can be avoided.
"Today we see that more and more countries which loosen restrictions face new infection outbreaks. If we don't react to that, there will be the second worse wave," the WHO Regional Director said.
He reminded that medical professionals are still in the same position - they don't have the vaccine or treatment from coronavirus.
"But we do have experience. We're prepared better for new pandemic, we know a lot about infection. We've analyzed used methods for medical treatment and know how effective they are," Kluge added.
