AKIPRESS.COM - The Government of Japan provided $270,000 to support women in vulnerable communities affected by COVID-19. The project will be administered by UN Women and will last for one year. The main aim of the project is to facilitate recovery of economic well-being of rural women affected by coronavirus pandemic.
The project will be carried out in Naryn, Osh and Jalal-Abad regions and will support resumption of economic activities by women.
More than 500 rural women from vulnerable groups, including women migrants, mothers of many children, mothers having children with disabilities, women from ethnic minority groups in three regions are expected to benefit from the project.
