Kyrgyzstan learning Uzbekistan, Russia's experience in taxing Google

AKIPRESS.COM - Many countries, including Uzbekistan and Russia, have taxed Google, said Deputy Prime Minister Erkin Asrandiyev June 11. The issue is currently being studied in Kyrgyzstan, he said.
"Proposals on taxing Google were made, the Kyrgyz government is currently studying the experience of Uzbekistan and Russia in introducing this type of tax," he said.
After learning other countries' experience, next steps will be made, he added.
In Uzbekistan, the total number of Internet giants registered in Uzbekistan as VAT payers exceeded 10. Google paid 85,000 Euros for the first quarter of 2020, Apple paid $59,200. Since start of 2020, foreign legal entities providing services and selling goods online are seen as tax payers. The State Tax Committee set up a VAT online office allowing foreign Internet companies to register in Uzbekistan and pay taxes.
