AKIPRESS.COM - Patients with COVID-19 often need treatment in hospitals and artificial respiratory support due to infection specialties. Hospitals are filled for 60% across Kazakhstan and up to 90% in Nur-Sultan and Almaty, Health Minister Alexey Tsoy said, zakon.kz reported. 26,000 places for coronavirus infected patients were prepared in 348 medical facilities. 10,000 beds more will be arranged at hospitals before the end of August. Their equipment includes intensive care units with lung ventilators, Minister Aleksey Tsoy said during the briefing.
According to him, the number of lung ventilators available at Kazakh hospitals makes 3,294. The government is planning to buy around 1,000 ventilators, he said.
