Kyrgyzstan's poverty rate decreased by 11.3% in 8 years

AKIPRESS.COM - Kyrgyzstan's poverty rate has decreased by 11.3% in 8 years, according to the National Statistics Committee.
Poverty declined from 33.7% in 2010 to 22.4% in 2018.
The extreme poverty rate was 5.3% in 2010 and 0.6% in 2018. The decline over eight years was 4.7%.
1,429,000 people in Kyrgyzstan lived below the poverty line in 2018, 68% of them lived in rural areas.
Population of Kyrgyzstan is more than 6.3 million.
