AKIPRESS.COM - UN peacekeepers from Mongolia, deployed at the UN Mission in South Sudan, helped to renovate hospital Abienmom.
They repaired the walls, electricity and wiring systems.
Mongolian peacekeepers built isolation room for patients with COVID-19, made reservoirs for hand washing and water keeping.
After 5 years of war Abienmom remained in emergency state. It did not have electricity and water supply system. The number of medical supplies was minimum for people from villages of Ruweng administrative area.
"Women stopped visiting doctors when they saw the hospital. This led to increased number of deaths after deliveries at home and children who died young without medical surveillance," doctor of Abienmom Rajina Nyanek says.
