AKIPRESS.COM - The highest one-day spike in new COVID-19 cases was recorded on July 8 in Uzbekistan with 422 new coronavirus infections registered. Five patients died, the Ministry of Health reported.
110 new COVID-19 cases were registered by 11.30 p.m. on July 8, which brought the total number of confirmed cases to 11,092.
All 110 cases were detected among people staying in the quarantine center after arrival from abroad.
7,060 patients recovered from coronavirus infection.
3,987 people still remain in hospitals.
Uzbekistan will reinstate strict quarantine restrictions from July 10 to August 1 amid resurgence in new COVID-19 cases and hospitals stretched beyond capacity.
