AKIPRESS.COM - Former judge of Constitutional Chamber Klara Sooronkulova called detention of protesters today in Bishkek as 'unlawful'.
The rally in protest against parliamentary elections was planned for 11.00 am outside the Parliament building today.
The organizers of the rally said the notification was submitted a day before. However, police started detaining people as soon as they came to the venue of the protest, Tilekmat uulu Kudaibergen said.
Tilekmat was installing a microphone near the monument to the April revolution heroes, when police arrived and detained him.
Soorunkolova was present during the incident and she called the actions of police unlawful.
"They planned a peaceful rally. They met all requirements for the rally. They have not violated law. Police even did not explain the reason of their detention," she said.
