President of coronavirus-free Turkmenistan puts on mask to protect himself from 'viruses in dust'

AKIPRESS.COM - Turkmenistan is one of few countries where authorities claim there is no coronavirus infection.
However, this week President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was shown on local television channels wearing a face mask while catching fish in solitude. Local media said the President put on the mask to protect from "viruses abundant in dust."
After successful fishing, the President visited the orphanage and handed over caught fish to children, who were all in masks as well.
The mask wearing and social distancing requirement entered into effect in Turkmenistan this week. Restaurants, cafes and markets were ordered to be shut down.
Likewise North Korea, Turkmenistan takes precautionary measures and does not confirm coronavirus cases in the country.
