2,247 work permits issued in Kyrgyzstan since year start

AKIPRESS.COM - The State Migration Service issued 2,247 work permits since the beginning of this year, Migration Service Vice Chairman Samat Toktobolotov told AKIpress.
The work permit fee was increased for foreigners in 2019 from 20,000 soms to 50,000 soms.
"The increase of fees in 2019 led to growth in public budget receipts. More than 50 milion soms were paid to the budget every year before 2019. In 2019, 135 milion soms were paid. In 2020 we planned to achieve 200 million soms, but failed to do so due to the pandemic. We issued 7,070 work permits in 2019, but only 2,247 work permits were issued in 2020," the Migration Service Vice Chairman stated.
The Migration Service plans to switch to online submission of work permit applications since autumn.
