Uzbekistan to produce film about capturivated Japanese servicemen during WW II

AKIPRESS.COM - The national film agency of Uzbekistan Uzbekkino is planning to produce film about captivated Japanese servicemen, who were in Uzbekistan during World War II.
Akbar Bekturdyev will be director of the film. His project was approved by agency's Arts Council the second time. During first trial he was recommended to supplement the script.
The film will be made in cooperation with the Embassy of Japan.
The film will be based on a true story. Thousands of captivated Japanese soldiers were sent to remote regions of the Soviet Union in autumn in 1945. 25,000 of them arrived in Uzbekistan.
They constructed buildings in Tashkent and regions, including Alisher Navoi State Academic Bolshoi Theatre.
