AKIPRESS.COM - Kazakhstan develops a plan to gradually ease quarantine measures, Health Minister Aleksey Tsoi said during government meeting.
"According to the criteria for softening of quarantine measures, the Ministry monitors the rate of infection reproduction, which is the number of people that one patient infects before isolation, and the percentage of bed occupancy in infectious disease hospitals," Mnister Tsoi said.
He noted that 3-week quarantine showed results.
"During three weeks of quarantine the rate of reproduction of the infection has decreased from 1.2 to 0.99. The bed occupancy rate dropped from 90% to 47%. Thus, this positive dynamics indicates quarantine measures may be softened gradually," the Minister said.
According to the Ministry of Health, there has been a 29% decrease in registered cases in Kazakhstan since the introduction of quarantine.
