Ex-PM of Mongolia Sanjaagiin Bayar sentenced to 5 years in jail

AKIPRESS.COM - 25 Prime Minister of Mongolia Sanjaagiin Bayar was sentenced to 5 years in prison.
He was accused of power abuse because of signing an agreement with companies Petrovis Trading and Ivanhoe Mines Mongolia Inc, belonging to his friend Ch. Davaanyam. The agreement on supply of fuel and lubricants was signed in September 2009 until 2013.
Sanjiin Bayar allowed Petrovis Trading to gain profit of $147 million under this agreement.
$147 million were confiscated as illegal income.
Ch. Davaanyam was sentenced to 2 years in prison. His four apartments in US bought for $2 million were confiscated and nationalized.
29th Prime Minister Jargaltulgyn Erdenebat was sentenced to 6 years in prison on July 6, just before Naadam national holiday.
Another ex-PM of Mongolia Mendsaykhany Enkhsaikhan is also in jail.
He was 18th PM and was found guilty of causing damage to Ministry of Energy for the sum of $20,000.
He was sentenced to 4 years and 6 months in prison.
