Health Ministry asks to restrict travel across Issyk-Kul region amid spike in coronavirus cases

AKIPRESS.COM - Spike in coronavirus cases is observed in Issyk-Kul region since last week, Health Ministry's spokesperson Ainura Akmatova told a brefing today.
She compared the daily cases in Issyk-Kul region.
"4 PCR-confirmed coronavirus cases were registered on July 27, on July 30, 13 coronavirus cases were registered, on Auust 1 - 15 cases, on August 2 - 29 coronavirus cases. 68 pneumonia cases were registered on July 27, on July 28 - 82 pneumonia cases, on July 29 - 155 cases, on July 31 - 81 cases," Akmatova said.
"According to community mobility reports released by Google, despite a tense epidemiological situation in Issyk-Kyl region, the mobility trends of locals and vacationers grew. Park visits in the region grew to 110% from 40% at the beginning of June. The visits to cafes, stores, pharmacies and vacation hotels grew as well. We would like to ask citizens of Issyk-Kul region and those coming to spend their vacations in the reigon to maitain social distancing and restrict travel across the region. Surge in coronavirus cases will increase the burden for the health care system and all medical workers," she said.
