600 million soms needed to supply all schools of Kyrgyzstan with textbooks

AKIPRESS.COM - Up to 600 million soms are needed to supply all schools of Kyrgyzstan with textbooks, Vice President of Kyrgyz Academy of Education Ulanbek Mambetakunov said.
120 million soms are allocated for textbooks now, he said.
"School libraries are supplied with textbooks for 75%. The schools with Kyrgyz language of instruction are supplied with textbooks for 85%, schools with Uzbek, Tajik, Russian languages of instruction are provided with textbooks at 70-75%," Mambetakunov said.
The Ministry of Education monitors what textbooks need to be replaced, lifespan of which textbooks expired (lifespan of textbook is 5 years).
