Kyrgyzstan, Japan sign $2.9 million grant agreement on human resource development scholarship project until 2024

AKIPRESS.COM - The exchange notes and grant agreement on the Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship by Japanese Grant Aid (JDS) for 2021-2024 fiscal year for 305 million yens (around $2.9 million) were signed today between Kyrgyzstan and Japan, the Finance Ministry of Kyrgyzstan said.
The project is aimed to support graduate and post-graduate studies of public and municipal servants.
JDS Project targets the highly capable young government officials who are expected to engage in implementing social and economic development plans as a future leader.
JDS Project offers 2-year Master's courses at Japanese Universities in English. JDS fellows will get a special opportunity for directly learning the forefront knowledge in the technological environment as well as for building the wide human networks.
13 groups of 210 JDS fellows were granted scholarships since inception of the project in Kyrgyzstan.
The 14th group of 20 fellows has been formed now, including 18 fellows for Master's degree programs and 2 for PhD degree programs.
