AKIPRESS.COM - New coronavirus outbreaks in South Korea have closed museums, nightclubs and karaoke bars in Seoul, BBC reports. South Korea is one of the countries which have successfully coped with the spread of coronavirus. New COVID-19 cases spike that occurred in the church however raised concerns about the next outbreak.
South Korea reported 246 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday. Most of them were connected to the Sarang Jeil Church.
These cases have reignited fears of the second outbreak at another worship site, the Shincheonji Church of Jesus, which was identified as South Korea's largest virus cluster earlier this year.
457 cases at least were connected with the latest outbreak at Sarang Jil Church.
Ten of these cases were confirmed during anti-governmental demonstrations over the past two weekends in Seoul, Reuters reported.
Authorities banned personal church services. They are trying to identify community members to isolate them and test for coronavirus.
