AKIPRESS.COM - The Bishkek city court today upheld the ruling of the first instance court on the historical museum and Cholpon-Ata race track case.
Ex-Prime Minister Sapar Isakov and ex-advisor to the President Mira Karybaeva stood before trial.
On June 9, the Pervomaiskiy district court announced Sapar Isakov guilty of corruption and sentenced him to 12.5 years in prison.
The court added this prison term to the previously announced verdict and ruled 18 years in prison for Isakov and compensation of the caused damage in the amount of 247.65 million soms.
Sapar Isakov was earlier announced guilty of corruption in modernization of the Bishkek combined heat and power plant and sentenced to 15 years in prison.
Former presidential advisor and chief of civil development, religious and thnic policy division of the President's Administration Mira Karybaeva was announced guilt of power abuse and was fined 260,000 soms.
The General Prosecutor's Office launched criminal probe into repair of the historical museum in Bishkek and construction of the race track in Cholpon-Ata.
The damage caused for the state was estimated at 247 million soms, including 101.6 million soms for the historical museum and 145,9 milion soms for the race track.
Charges were brought against 6 in the rehabilitation of the historical museum. Four of them concluded the agreement with the investigation.
