Parties demand to bar their rivals from elections for late submission of documents for registration

AKIPRESS.COM - The meeting of Central Election Commission Chair Nurjan Shaildabekova and representatives of Bir Bol, Reforma, Ata Meken, Chon Kazat, Mekenim Kyrgyzstan parties and activists was held last night.
The political parties demanded to show security camera footage to see at what time representative of Kyrgyzstan party brought documents for registration of candidates.
The deadline for submission of documents was 6.00 p.m. of August 24.
Central Election Commission Nurjan Shaildabekova said the doors of the Central Election Commission were closed at 6.00 p.m.
The video showed the documents were brought at 6.02 p.m. The Central Election Commission explained the time on the camera is wrong.
According to security camera footage and information provided by Central Election Commission worker, the documents of Kyrgyzstan party were submitted by a man, who is not authorized representative of the party. Kyrgyzstan's authorized representative is Elvira Abeldieva.
The working group of the Central Election Commission will make decision today, CEC Chair Nurjan Shaildabekova said.
"If you disagree with the decision of the Central Election Commission, you may file claim in court," she said.
Activist Ulan Usein urged party representatives to come to the Central Election Commission today and to demand exclusion of the parties that failed to meet the deadline in submission of documents by 6.00 p.m. of August 24.
