Students may go to school in Kyrgyzstan upon improvement of epidemiological situation - Minister

AKIPRESS.COM - "In case epidemiological situation improves, we won't wait for the second term," Minister of Education and Science Kanybek Isakov said.
"We will reopen schools and priority grades. But this depends upon epidemiological situation. As you know, coronavirus outbreaks followed after reopening of schools in the United States, Germany. We may have same situation if we reopen schools now," the Minister said.
As for private educational institutions, the Minister said the private schools ask to allow them work traditionally. Kyrgyzstan has 139 private schools.
"We offered to the government if the private school doesn't have many students and has medical personnel it may be allowed to work traditionally. However, the government has made the decision the requirements should be the same for all schools," Minister Isakov said.
First grade students will start school in the first term of the 2020-2021 academic year. The students of grades 2-11 will study remotely.
