AKIPRESS.COM - 41% of respodents said Kyrgyzstan is developing in right direction and 53% of respondents said the country is developing in a wrong direction, according to the findings of the poll released by the International Republican Institute.
The attitudes changed in 8 months: in December 2019 only 36% of respondents said the direction of dvelopment is wrong and 52% said it is right.
Last time when the negative assessments prevailed over positive was in February 2013 - 48% versus 39%. The poll was conducted then shortly after the coup attempt in October 2012. However, the negative assessments were less than a half at that time.
On the whole more negative attitudes prevailed over positive in May 2005, May and November 2010 and February 2013. But only 2 times the negative assessment was more than 50%: in May 2010 - 60% and 28% positive, in November 2010 - 58% negative and 30% positive.
International Republican Institute conducts polls in Kyrgyzstan regularly since 2005.
The poll was conducted from August 6-15 among citizens above 18 years by telephone (statistical error - 2.8%) by SIAR Research & Consulting with USAID financial support.
