Tajikistan produces over 1.2 million tons of coal

AKIPRESS.COM - Tajikistan has produced more than 1.2 million tons of coal since the beginning of the year.
The country mostly produces hard coal. Its production exceeded 1.1 million tons in 8 months of this year.
Last year, Tajikistan produced more than 2 million tons of coal. 12 local and foreign companies are involved into coal mining.
More than 200 enterprises use coal as fuel in Tajikistan, according to the Ministry of Industry.
Coal production is growing yearly in Tajikistan. Thus, more than 870,000 tons were produced in 2014, over 1 million tons were produced in 2015, some 1.4 million tons of coal were produced in 2016 and over 1.7 million tons in 2017. In 2018, coal production surpassed 1.9 million tons, Avesta reported.
