AKIPRESS.COM - The Foreign Ministers of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan held political consultations on September 29 in Dushanbe on current bilateral cooperation and its prospects.
The Foreign Ministers reviews the ways to further intensify cooperation in political, commercial, economic, investment, hydropower, transport, communication, cultural spheres, as well as cooperation in the framework of such international organizations as the UN, OSCE, SCO, CIS, OIC, International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea.
The grown bilateral trade was noted, which made $500 million in 2019.
Despite the restrictions due to COVID-19 pandemic, the bilateral trade grew by 7.5% in 7 months of this year and made $255.4 million.
The Ministers exchanged views on preparations for the third consultative meeting of the Central Asian leaders planned to be held in Kyrgyzstan.
