President Jeenbekov urges all forces to get back to legal framework

AKIPRESS.COM - President Sooronbai Jeenbekov today made statement on political situation in the country.
"Certain political forces attempted to seize power illegally last night. Using the election results as the cause, they disrupted public order. They disrupted peaceful life of citizens. They did not obey police, injured medical workers and damaged buildings," the President said.
"I ordered police not to open fire. We have made all possible efforts so far to prevent escalation of the situation," Jeenbekov said.
"Peace in the country, stability are more important than any mandate. I offered the Central Election Commission to thoroughly investigate the violations and if necessary cancel parliamentary election results," the President stated.
"I urge leaders of political parties to calm down their supporters and remove them from the streets. I urge all my compatriots to stay calm and resist provocations. Peace in our country and safety of people are the most important things. I urge all forces to put future of the country above political ambitions and return back to legal framework," the statement said.
