President Jeenbekov visits General Staff of Armed Forces

AKIPRESS.COM - President Sooronbai Jeenbekov today visited the General Staff of Armed Forces, where he discussed the measures of stabilization of the socio-political situation with the newly appointed Chief of General Staff, the president's press service reported. The main task now is to ensure safety for citizens and public order in the capital, the President said.
"Today I signed the order declaring the state of emergency in Bishkek. In view of the situation, we must gain control over the situation immediately and strengthen peace," he said.
Apart from political calls, the calls aimed at split of society are heard, Sooronbai Jeenbekov added.
"Citizens should not become victims of political games of irresponsible politicians. As head of state I will make all possible efforts in line with the Constitution in order to ensure peaceful life for people and integrity of the country. I am convinced all sound forces of the country will support me," Jeenbekov said.
