Attempt on lives of Atambayev, Babanoiv and Isakov made at Ala-Too square - Farid Niyazov

AKIPRESS.COM - The attempt on lives of ex-President Almazbek Atambayev, former leader of Respublika party Omurbek Babanov and ex-Prime Minister Sapar Isakov was made at Ala-Too square on October 9. Unknown people fired shots into their cars, ex-Chief of President's Administration Farid Niyazov said. "We received information yesterday that an attempt on life of ex-President Almazbek Atambayev is planned. During the peaceful rally of progressive parties at Ala-Too square, the agressive mob came from the old square, who called themselves supporters of Sadyr Japarov. They began throwing stones and bottles into the tribune," Farid Niyazov said.
Participants of the peaceful rally began leaving the square to prevent mass disorders. However, some unknown people began breaking car windows and fired shots.
"They fired shots into Almazt Atambayev, Omurbek Babanov and Sapar Isakov. The bullet traces were left on several cars, Mercedez among them with the ex-President inside," Niyazov said.
