Situation in forex market of Kyrgyzstan will stabilize in a couple of days, central bank says

AKIPRESS.COM - Head of National bank of Kyrgyzstan Tolkunbek Abdygulov told reporters on October 16 that the situation with the increase in exchange rate of US dollar to the som will stabilize in a few days.
He reminded that the som is in free floating mode.
"Central bank makes forex market intervention to smooth fluctuations. Yesterday, we made an intervention because there were reasons for that: banks did not work for a week, payments had to continue and overall situation in the country made the population worry, which led to increased demand in USD," he said.
